Community Giving

  • The Squisher and Squasher show aims to support local charities and community organisations through our community giving program. We aim to support others in need through a variety of different means and do our best to support a wide variety of causes. Each season of the Squisher and Squasher show has a dedicated charity performance with all profits from the show being donated to a nominated program.

Below are some of the programs we have been able to support in the past as well as our latest community giving program which is in aid of Camp Kulin.

  • Camp Kulin

Camp Kulin aims to make a positive difference in the lives of children who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and related factors. The camps help to teach children important life skills such as leadership, teambuilding, self confidence, self esteem, trust, communication skills and respect. Camp Kulin also gives them the chance to be a child and have a fun week of fun they will never forget.

In order to send one child to camp for a week it costs $350. This allows a child in need to have all accommodation, transport, meals and activities paid for. In order to assist in raising the funds to send a child to camp, the Squisher and Squasher show will be donating the profits from their final show of their next season to Camp Kulin. The time and date of this show will be announced soon. Collection tins will also be present at all other shows for those audience members who are unable to attend this performance.

For more details of Camp Kulin or to sponsor a child to attend camp please contact Tanya on 0457801008 or campkulin@kulin.wa.gov.au or www.facebook.com/CampKulin

“Camp Kulin is a wonderful initiative bringing some amazing experiences to children that have seen some negative things in their short lives.”

  • St Vincent de Paul Society Christmas Appeal

Every year the St.Vincent de Paul Society collects food items, clothes, toys, and other assorted items for distribution to families in need. One of their biggest drives is the Christmas Appeal.

In 2013 the Squisher and Squasher show put together one complete Christmas Hamper for the St. Vincent de Paul Society, including gifts for a family of four.

We hope to continue this effort each year in support of this wonderful cause.

More details about the work St. Vincent de Paul do in the community can be found by visiting their website at: http://www.vinnies.org.au/

“The Vinnies Christmas Appeal runs annually throughout November to February to support the people that will suffer in silence and will be doing it tough over the Christmas period, so they too can experience the joy of Christmas.”

  • Imzadi's Fund

Imzadi is a 4 year old girl who was diagnosed with terminal cancer early in 2013. Since her diagnosis, her family have been seeking donations to help cover the cost of medical treatments and equipment not covered by medicare.

All donations received have been given directly to the family and have assisted them in staying with their daughter throughout this difficult time.

The Squisher and Squasher show donated the profits from their final performance during the July School Holidays. The show took place on Saturday July 13th 2013 at 1pm. Donations received on the day and ticket sales saw over $500 raised for Imzadi’s Fund. A huge thank you to the families that attended the charity performance and to our wonderful performers for putting on the show.

More details of Imzadi’s Fund can be found at www.facebook.com/ImzadisFund

“Thank you to all you lovely people who have donated and shared our page with others. You are making a difference to this little girl and her beautiful family. Thank you!”
